My business plan has officially been approved for phase 2 of the SEB program! I am ok to go ahead with my business, and my living expenses will be funded while I do so. Very exciting times my friends!
To celebrate, I went out and bought a filing cabinet, and a copy of Simply Accounting

I recognize your av from FSw! Thanks for the comment
SEB (Self Employment Benefit) is a program funded by EI (Employment Insurance) in Canada. There are two phases: During phase 1, you attend 4 weeks of courses geared toward helping you write a business plan. The courses are really great, not only is the instructor very knowledgeable and creative, but the other participants in the class are great to bounce ideas off of. So once the business plan is written, you present it to two people who will either approve it, or not. If they do (which they did) you move on to phase 2, in which you get about $400 per week for 32 weeks while you start your business. This means I can survive, AND work on my business without being too stressed!

Hi
Your post came up in “possibly related posts” in WordPress. I am on SEB program, too! By the date on your post, you must have already graduated and been working on your business for a while… How’s it going? Good luck!
